People who consider of taking a social media detox presumably is under stress as well as experiencing cyberbullying while using Messenger, posting tweets on Twitter, or putting up photos on Instagram. Speaking of websites where one can experience cyberbullying, these are the Top 3 social media sites wherein cyberbullying frequently occurs: Facebook, Instagram, Ask.fm/CuriousCat. First and foremost, Facebook has billions of users all over the globe. However, not all has good intentions. They use Facebook to harass, discriminate, scam, blackmail, defame, and such. Resulting to victims being cyberbullied and have nothing to do to defend themselves when things get out of hand. In addition, Instagram is a social media site therein one can put up photos of anything they want. Ranging from hateful photos to selfies, the enabled comments section can either have encouraging messages or hateful comments from trolls or enemies. Additionally, the next website was linked to nine teen suicides from the US, as claimed by Edwards (2013). Ask.fm/Curiouscat, is a website that enables people to anonymously supposedly question a certain person but instead this website became a medium for horrible comments to go through. This resulted to suicides, depression, and such to occur. Undoubtedly, social media detox is a positive and healthy thing.
